A partnership between the Arataki Community Centre, C3 and Mosaic Churches to build connection and community in the Arataki area. They aim to meet the immediate food refief needs of the community and improve the longer term health, well being and social connectedness of the Arataki community.
A community based early childhood centre that encourages the holistic development of whanau and children and aim to raise children of integrity and compassion, develop a culture of character and inspire service. A Christian based centre that reflects a bi-cultural heritage and a multi-cultural society and upholds the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Whaariki.
Vincentians (Volunteers) work to promote human dignity and social justice through personal contact with those in need. The Loaves and Fishes program provide 160 lunches per week to children in schools that have little food.
Aims to make a positive difference in the community through the provision of a service which embraces both families and individuals who are facing life challenges. We endeavour to build on strengths and maximise the abilities and resources of individuals and families.
As followers of Jesus they are inspired by the example of Jesus, his compassion and his giving of himself to those, who in many different ways, were marginalised by mainstream society. They offer a range of services designed to meet some of the critical needs of families and individuals in our community. These include counselling, advocacy, parenting, Budgeting and money management and more.
Provides a community meal every two weeks to a group of local people who come together to prepare the meal and connect with each other.
Provides food parcels to individuals and families in need. People are referred from a variety of authorised organisations. Recipients need to enrol in budgetary advice services once they have received 3 parcels. The Tauranga Foodbank provides approximately 25 parcels a day to those in need.
A women centred, not for profit community organization, working with communities to support women and their children affected by Domestic Violence. Tauranga Women’s Refuge has been providing advocacy, information and support to women and their children experiencing Domestic Violence (physical, psychological and emotional) since 1980.
Te Aranui Youth Trust empowers young people in the Western Bay of Plenty to engage with their community and make self-aware and conscientious life choices.
Through the delivery of the DARE, Blue Light and Police Youth Development programmes,
Te Aranui Youth Trust provides a pathway to ensure local youths are positive, steadfast, well-adjusted members of the community.
Shakti is a national not-for-profit community organisation specialised in the area of women’s development, empowerment and domestic/ family violence intervention, prevention and awareness. They are a specialist provider of culturally competent support services for women, children and families of Asian, African and Middle Eastern origin. They have the vision to have a world where women and children are empowered to live a life of dignity free from fear and violence and are able to exercise their rights, choices and responsibilities. They facilitate and ensure the safety and overall well-being of all women and children through strategic intervention measures aimed at eliminating all forms of oppression and gender-based violence.
